Waste Guide
What Can Go in a Skip Bin?
Most household and building waste is straightforward. A few things are never accepted in any bin, and a few need to be sorted or arranged in advance — here's the detail before you book.
Never accepted, in any KDR bin
- Food and putrescible waste
- LPG bottles and gas cylinders
- Liquid paint (dry, empty tins may be accepted)
- Oils, chemicals and thinners
- Other liquid waste
If any of these are in the bin, it may not be able to be collected. When in doubt, call KDR on 0419 442 578 before you load it.
What goes in each waste type
KDR prices bins by waste type, and each one has its own rules about what can be mixed in. Keeping a load to a single category is usually cheaper and avoids problems at collection.

This waste type is arranged directly with the KDR team rather than booked online. Call 0419 442 578 or see the waste types page for details.
Not sure about a specific item?
The lists above cover the categories, not every object in a garage. If you have something unusual — or a mixed load you are not sure how to classify — call KDR on 0419 442 578 and describe it. It is a much shorter conversation than an uncollectable bin. Some items also attract an additional charge, which is confirmed with you rather than applied as a surprise; the FAQs cover the common ones.
Next steps
Once you know your waste type, pick a size with the skip bin size guide or compare all ten on skip bin sizes and prices. For a load that would need heavy sorting, or waste that can't go in a bin at all, rubbish removal may suit better — see how the two compare.
