KDR Skip Bins

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Skip Bin Hire

Is GST included in your skip bin prices?

Yes. All prices shown on this site include GST (current as of July 2026).

What size skip bin do I need?

It depends on the job — a small household clean-up usually suits a 2–3m³ bin, while a renovation or construction job often needs 8m³ or larger. Use our Get a Price tool for a size recommendation, or call the KDR team and we'll talk it through with you.

What can I put in a KDR skip bin?

It depends on the waste type you book — general household waste, building and construction waste, green waste, bricks and concrete, and roof tiles (larger bins only) are all available. See our Waste Types page for what's accepted in each category.

What can't go in a skip bin?

Food and putrescible waste, LPG bottles and gas cylinders, liquid paint, oils, chemicals, thinners and other liquid waste are never accepted. Dry, empty paint tins may be accepted. Asbestos is only accepted bagged and by prior arrangement with the KDR team.

Do mattresses and tyres cost extra?

Yes — a mattress is an additional $70, a car tyre $35 and a truck tyre $70.

Do you deliver outside your standard service area?

A delivery and fuel surcharge may apply depending on your location. If it applies, it's shown clearly in your price breakdown before you book. If we can't confirm your delivery zone automatically, our team will follow up to confirm pricing before your booking is finalised.

How long can I keep my KDR skip bin?

Standard hire includes 7 days from the date your bin is delivered. If you need the bin longer, additional hire is $10.00 AUD per day for bins under 8m³ and $15.00 AUD per day for bins 8m³ and larger. All prices include GST.

Do you service tradies and commercial clients?

Yes — KDR provides skip bin hire for residential, commercial and construction jobs, from a single-room clean-up to an active building site.

Do you accept asbestos?

Bagged asbestos is accepted by prior arrangement only, in dedicated 1.5m³ or 3.0m³ bag units. Please call KDR directly to arrange this — it isn't available as a standard bin booking.

Rubbish Removal

What types of rubbish can KDR remove?

Household clean-outs, garage and shed clean-outs, renovation and construction rubbish, commercial and office clean-outs, green waste, furniture, deceased-estate clean-outs, end-of-lease clean-ups, property clean-ups, and approved asbestos waste by prior arrangement. See our Rubbish Removal page for the full list.

How is a rubbish-removal quote calculated?

It depends on the job — factors can include waste volume, waste type, weight, labour, access and disposal costs. That's why we ask for a description and photos rather than an instant fixed price, so we can give you an accurate quote.

Do I need to move the rubbish outside first?

Not necessarily — just describe where the rubbish is located when you request your quote, and KDR will confirm what labour is included before the job is booked.

Can KDR remove rubbish from upstairs?

Often, yes — but stairs, distance to the truck and general access need to be disclosed in your quote request, as they may affect labour and pricing.

Can I upload photos for a quote?

Yes — clear photographs of the rubbish and access area help KDR assess the volume and access requirements and give you a more accurate quote.

Does KDR remove furniture and bulky household items?

Yes, furniture and bulky household items are a standard part of our rubbish-removal service.

Does KDR remove renovation and building waste?

Yes — renovation and construction rubbish removal is one of our core rubbish-removal services.

Does KDR remove green waste?

Yes, garden clean-up and green waste removal is available as part of our rubbish-removal service.

Is KDR licensed to handle asbestos?

Yes. KDR is licensed to handle approved asbestos waste. All asbestos jobs require prior discussion and approval so the correct safety, transport and disposal requirements can be confirmed.

Can asbestos go into a normal skip bin?

No. Asbestos must not be placed into a normal general-waste bin. It must be arranged with KDR beforehand as a dedicated, approved asbestos job.

How quickly can KDR attend?

We aim to attend as quickly as possible, with availability depending on your location, bin requirements and our delivery schedule. Same-day or next-day service may be available in some cases, but is subject to availability and must be confirmed by our team at the time of booking.

Which areas does KDR service?

KDR services the Blue Mountains, Penrith and surrounding areas. Check our Service Areas page or get in touch to confirm your suburb.

Is the quote GST-inclusive?

Yes. All quoted KDR prices include GST.

What happens after I submit a quote request?

The KDR team reviews your job details, photographs, waste type and access information before confirming the price and availability directly with you.
