Most deliveries are straightforward. The ones that aren't usually come down to access — a tight driveway, a steep block, a shared entrance. Here's what to check before delivery day.
How KDR delivers
KDR uses hook-lift trucks, which place a bin precisely and lift it straight back on at collection. That makes tight driveways far more workable than they look, but the truck still needs a clear approach, room to manoeuvre, and enough overhead space to raise the bin — low branches and power lines matter more than most people expect.
Where the bin can go
You choose the placement when you book, and it is one of the details that matters most for a smooth delivery.
Driveway
The most common choice. The bin sits on your own driveway, off the road and out of the way. Worth checking the surface — a heavy bin sits on a small footprint, so soft or decorative surfaces are worth mentioning when you book.
Elsewhere on private property
A yard, hardstand, paddock or site compound. The truck still needs a clear run in and enough room to lift the bin off and back on, so flag anything narrow, soft underfoot or overhung by branches.
On the road
Sometimes the only option on a narrow or steep street. Tell KDR at booking so placement can be worked through before delivery day, and check with your local council, since rules on bins placed on public roads differ between areas.

Residential, commercial and construction sites
KDR delivers to all three, and the site type is part of your booking. A residential driveway, a commercial car park and an active construction site each have different access considerations — induction requirements, gate times, other trades working around the drop point — so tell KDR what applies and the delivery can be planned around it.
Before delivery day
- • Clear the placement spot — move cars, bins, trailers and anything else in the way.
- • Check the approach for low branches, tight gateposts and soft ground.
- • Decide exactly where the bin should sit, and leave room to walk around it while loading.
- • If the property is gated or access is shared, make sure it will be open and reachable.
